MINEROS DE ZACATECAS - THIRD SHIRT 2015/2016Mineros de Zacatecas were born in 2014, formed when the old Estudiantes Tecos franchise was relocated to the historic silver-mining city of Zacatecas in north-central Mexico. The name, the Miners, is a nod to the mineral wealth that built the region, and they play at the Estadio Carlos Vega Villalba.The 2015/2016 season, during which this striking third shirt was worn, was only the club's second in the Ascenso MX, Mexico's second tier. The Mexican calendar splits into the Apertura and Clausura tournaments, and Mineros spent the campaign scrapping for a place in the liguilla play-offs, at one point stringing together a three-game winning run as they chased the top eight.It was a season of drama across the division, with FC Juarez taking the Apertura crown and Necaxa winning the Clausura before going up to the top flight.
