Japanese Bonsai

The Japanese holly, shaped over many years into a living sculpture. Its dense evergreen foliage and refined form bring year-round structure to entrances, terraces and gardens with very little maintenance. Carefully trained by specialist growers in Europe, our Ilex bonsai are selected for their balanced shape, healthy growth and exceptional quality. Best space & place Ilex crenata thrives in full sun to partial shade and is well suited to pots, courtyards and formal gardens. Its naturally compact growth responds well to clipping, helping it maintain its sculptural form throughout the year. When to water & feed Keep the compost evenly moist, particularly during spring and summer. Allow the top layer of soil to begin drying before watering again, but avoid letting the compost dry out completely. Ensure excess water can drain freely, as waterlogged roots can lead to rot. Feed with a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy, vibrant growth. Need to know Hardy to around -15°C, Ilex is well suited to the UK climate. Unlike true box (Buxus), it is naturally resistant to box tree moth, making it an excellent low-maintenance alternative for topiary and bonsai forms. Size Information Decorative pot not included.
