From the artist: • Historic city of Charleston has functioned as a vital trade and maritime hub since 1670 and is major shipping hub for commercial and cruise lines traveling to the Caribbean - hence the cruise ship and palm trees. • The loud speakers symbolize a musical show - energy and excitement. • The girl acts as a symbol of good fortune, safe travels and has lilies in her hair (Raul's favorite flower) • Below the girl is a lotus flower which symbolizes purity, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening. We have use this image over the years for the 30 years artwork. i have included a music clef signifying a music act. • As with all the Mavericks & friends artwork to date, I have included the brand stars. • Raul nuggets - 1965 his birth year are the roman numerals on the front of the ship. When I designed the first solo poster for Raul, I included the words AMOR • LIBERTAD • UNIDAD. My idea as representing Raul's core values. The poster was Cuban themed hence using Spanish. The English translation - LOVE • LIBERTY • UNITY. • '& FRIENDS' lettering is steam from the ships funnel.
