Antique Monumental Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Hall Tree Stand Mirror 1890
A fine and monumental antique Renaissance Revival carved oak hall tree / stand, circa 1880. This very regal antique hall stand is made from solid quarter-sawn oak, to the top is a stepped crown flanked with a pair of turned and ribbed urn shaped finials, the back is finely carved with both architectural and foliate carvings. To the center is the original beveled mirror, the hall tree is fitted with all of the original brass coat hooks, thirteen in total. The base having a hall table top with a bowed drawer below with the original brass hardware, below is a storage cupboard with twin doors carved with mythical beasts, the doors enclose a single shelf. The cupboard is flanked with two storage areas for umbrellas and walking canes and turned supports topped with ball finials. The base with spindled galleries fitted with the original metal drip pans, the hall stand is raised on bracket feet. The hall stand is in remarkable condition and of the highest quality, this very elegant hall stand is ready to grace your space.
