The Kopf Last
A wonderfully graphic work on paper, built around two bold blocks of red and ochre with the tiniest figure suspended between them. The handwritten words “KOPF LAST” (German for “head load” or “head burden”) add a slightly surreal, almost existential quality to an otherwise beautifully sparse composition. Framed with a generous mount in a delicate geometric wood frame by Harry Eagle, it has that great balance of playfulness and seriousness that makes a small work punch well above its size. Keep out of direct sunlight and gently dust with a soft cloth. Please note this item is final sale.
