Latin 245: A brief tour of 2780 years of Latin

Description: In 1939 S.M. Stephenson published his Stylistic of A Critical Anthology; covering the whole field of Latin Literature, which is a 418 page anthology of Latin texts, primarily aimed at Catholic students, covering everything from one of Romulus’ laws, through to 1925 and Pius XI. We’ll dip in and out of this selection over seven weeks, and forwards to the present day. The materials in this particular class do skew towards ecclesiastical and Christian latin. Classes will be offered via Zoom. You’ll need decent internet, and preferably a headset or microphone and relatively quiet workspace. Time: Tuesdays 8:00pm – 9pm US Eastern time, (The class time is fixed to 8:00pm, New York, regardless of other time changes) Date: Starting Tuesday 4th August, 2026 Length: 7 weeks x 1hr Cost: USD $168 Other details: All classes will be recorded and available for participants to download. Classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Classes may run with less participants, at my discretion. Any cancelled classes will be refunded in full.
