Château Margaux 2000 Mallorca
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux The estate "La Mothe de Margaux" (the hill of Margaux) has been known since the 12th century. Vines, however, were first planted in 1572 by the Lestonnac family, who established the estate as we know it today. In the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, the estate was ranked among the elite five “Premier Grand Cru Classé” châteaux. It is also known as the “crown jewel of the Médoc”, and its wine is considered a benchmark for elegance and finesse. The vineyards, planted on gravel and stone over clay subsoil, cover 93 hectares, of which 81 hectares are planted with red grape varieties and 12 hectares with white varieties.
