A Day of Clay - Make & Glaze Your Own Ceramic Birdhouse Join us for a fun and fulfilling, full day workshop where you will build and glaze a beautiful and functional birdhouse using slab building techniques. In this workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of slab building (a versatile pottery technique) and craft a unique birdhouse, perfect for attracting feathered friends to your garden. Unleash your creativity with surface decoration. Add detailed leaves, berries, flowers, or any natural elements that inspire you, making your birdhouse truly one-of-a-kind. Beginners will receive comprehensive instructions and templates to guide them, while experienced potters can develop their own designs and use their existing skills. If you already have a specific design in mind and want to create a custom birdhouse shape, please bring your own template pre-cut and ensure all pieces fit comfortably within an A3 sheet of paper. Personalise Your Piece: Surface Decoration: You’ll have the option to add colour and detail using underglazes, allowing you to paint on features or scenes directly onto the wet clay. Functional Design: Your finished piece will be a durable stoneware planter, ready to hold your favourite succulents or trailing plants. All techniques will be clearly demonstrated, and all materials and equipment are supplied. Duration: 5.5 hours Complexity Level: 3 - The Maker (Intermediate) This session is a fantastic Introduction to clay, combining basic techniques and structural building. Suitable for beginners who feel a bit more confident or have patience. Your pottery will be ready for collection from the venue approximately two to three weeks after the workshop.
