Laserblast (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) presents the cult sci-fi score from Charles Band’s 1978 cult classic Laserblast, composed by pioneering film composers Richard Band and Joel Goldsmith. This limited edition vinyl release marks the first-ever presentation of the original soundtrack on LP, strictly limited to 500 copies and sourced directly from the original master tapes for optimal audio fidelity. Richard Band, known for his extensive work in genre cinema including Re-Animator, Puppet Master, and Ghoulies, collaborates here with Joel Goldsmith, son of legendary composer Jerry Goldsmith, who later became known for scoring series such as Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis. Together, they created an early and innovative electronic score that predates modern MIDI technology, combining experimental synthesis with atmospheric sci-fi textures. The soundtrack also features 1970s-inspired rock and roll source cues, enhancing the film’s gritty, experimental tone.
