This dining table was designed for the Les Arcs ski resort project by Charlotte Perriand in France during the 1960s. The table combines a solid pine top with a black lacquered metal pedestal base, reflecting the functional and architectural aesthetic associated with the Les Arcs interiors developed by Perriand and her collaborators. Charlotte Perriand played a central role in redefining postwar French modernism through her work combining natural materials, modular construction, and utilitarian elegance. Furniture developed for Les Arcs remains among the most recognizable expressions of her late modern design language. The wooden top has been carefully refinished while retaining its natural vintage patina and visible grain character. The metal base remains in original condition and finish with traces of age and use consistent with the period. One of the glides is adjustable to stabilize the table. A timeless and highly versatile example of French alpine modernism.
