West Lot. 488 retains the cropped proportions intended to be worn with higher-waisted trousers. The outer is cut from Tuscan brown-core steerhide with a polished black pigment finish. Firm at first, the leather carries natural grain variation and develops character gradually through wear. The body is lined in brown salt-and-pepper wool sourced from a Yorkshire mill, a material commonly used in garments of the period. Sleeves cuffs are fastened with natural mottled brown buffalo horn buttons. The Lot. 488 features a USA Conmar centre zipper with a diamond-pull chest pocket zip.
