Marine Green Sheaffer Balance Statesman - extra-fine point

The Statesman is the 2nd largest Balance pen Sheaffer made. It is comparable in physical dimensions to a modern Pelikan M6xx or Sailor 1911L (ProFit 21). I have large hands and find no problem writing with the pen without posting the cap on the barrel end. The celluloid is in lovely condition. The barrel transparency has darkened a bit from the light green when new but the ink level remains easily viewed. The most important flaw is blistering of the plating on the cap band and clip. The asking price of the pen has been adjusted accordingly. The extra-fine nib writes a wet, smooth line with subtle line variation. The variation is not from flexibility - the nib is quite rigid - but due to a slightly stubby shape to the tipping. The filling system has been restored with modern materials that will last for decades with only an occasional application of 100% pure silicone grease on the filler rod.
