Each bag is cut from retired paragliders - aircraft that have completed their flying life under strict safety standards and would otherwise go to waste. The fabric is collected, dismantled, cleaned, and carefully cut by hand at a workshop in Kameoka, Kyoto. Because panels are taken from multiple different parts of different paragliders and pieced together (the "composite cut" method), every bag ends up with its own combination of colours and panel arrangement. No two are exactly the same. Paraglider nylon is extraordinarily light and durable by design. In bag form, that means you barely feel it empty, and it just keeps going when it's full.
