Botijo Botella

Inspired by the silhouette of a traditional bottle, the Botijo Botella reimagines one of Spain’s oldest water-cooling vessels through a more minimal, contemporary form. Handcrafted by artisans whose craft dates back generations, it blends Mediterranean heritage with timeless design. The botijo is handcrafted using local white clay with salt, giving it the perfect porosity for refreshing water in an ancient, natural, and ecological way. It has two openings; a wide one to pour the water and a small nozzle to drink it. For use, we recommend placing a plate under the piece to collect the water that oozes. Each piece is unique, meaning that you will find irregularities and work marks that truly make it one of a kind. Care Instructions: It is recommended to prepare the jug for use by rinsing the piece inside and outside. Fill it with water and empty it the next day. It has a has a raw surface, it is not glazed, and we recommend cleaning it regularly with a scourer and without soap.
