PVC plastic trim — for wall tile edges, capping strips and ceramic skirting. Available in white and grey. For a premium metal finish, see our aluminium and stainless steel trim range. The Genesis ESP Straight Edge PVC Tile Trim provides a clean, sharp finish to exposed wall tile edges. At 2.5m per length, with a perforated fixing flange that beds securely into tile adhesive, it gives a professional result without specialist tools. It can also be used as a capping strip where tiling stops short of a ceiling or corner, or as a ceramic skirting profile. Choose a trim depth 1.5–2.0mm greater than your tile thickness to account for the adhesive bed. 2.5m length Sizes: 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm Wall tile edging Capping & ceramic skirting Internal use only Easy to cut on site Material uPVC Length 2.5m per length Profile depth (D) 6 / 8 / 10 / 12mm Flange width 21mm Wall thickness 0.8mm Colour White Application Internal walls only Vicat softening point 93°C heat resistant Suitable for Wall tile edge finishing Ceramic and standard tiles Rectified and square-cut tiles Capping strips where tiling stops short Ceramic skirting applications Not suitable for Floor tile edging — not rated for foot traffic External / outdoor use Areas above 60°C continuously Contact with solvents or chlorinated hydrocarbons Why use tile trims? Advantages Protects exposed wall tile edges from chipping and cracking over time Gives a professional, factory-finished look to tile edges and borders Covers the raw ceramic edge where tiling stops — no unfinished tile visible PVC is cost-effective and easy to cut to length on site White colour matches white grout lines for a near-invisible finish Limitations to consider Not suitable for floor use — PVC will not withstand foot traffic PVC can yellow slightly over many years in strong sunlight Cannot be used externally — UV and frost will degrade the profile Visible join lines if lengths are not mitred neatly at corners How to fit & cut tile trim Cutting to length 1 Measure and mark the trim length required before cutting. Always measure twice.Allow an extra 2–3mm if the trim will butt into a corner — a tight fit is better than a gap. 2 Cut with a fine-tooth mitre saw, hacksaw, or sharp craft knife and straight edge.A mitre saw gives the cleanest 45° corner cuts. For straight cuts, a sharp knife scores cleanly in one pass — avoid sawing back and forth which can fray the edge. 3 For internal and external corners, mitre each piece at 45° so the two lengths meet cleanly.Do not attempt to bend PVC trim around corners — it will kink. Always cut and mitre. 4 Lightly sand any rough cut edges with fine-grit sandpaper before fitting. This also helps adhesive bond to the end of the trim if needed. Fitting the trim 1 Dry-fit the trim against your tile layout before applying adhesive. Check position and length. The trim depth (D) should be 1.5–2.0mm greater than your tile thickness to allow for the adhesive bed. 2 Apply tile adhesive to the wall and bed the trim flange firmly into it. Ensure adhesive penetrates the holes in the flange. The 5mm holes in the flange allow mechanical grip — press firmly to ensure full contact. 3 Spread adhesive over the flange and bed tiles up tightly against the trim profile. Keep the trim face clean as you work.Remove adhesive from the trim face immediately with a damp cloth — dried adhesive is difficult to remove cleanly. 4 A grout gap between the tile and trim is not essential, but if a small gap is visible, compress grout firmly into it.Use a grout float or finger to press grout into any gap and wipe clean before it sets.
