On the B-side, Mike D’Abo strips things back to piano for an intimate, impassioned take on his enduring composition ‘Handbags & Gladrags’ – a song long embedded in the British songbook through iconic recordings by Chris Farlowe and Rod Stewart, and later reintroduced to a new generation by The Stereophonics, not forgetting its use as the theme to Ricky Gervais’s The Office. Both tracks are lifted from the forthcoming album The Journey…So Far, due June 26th – an assured collection that reaffirms Mike D’Abo’s status as a distinctive and enduring voice in British songwriting.
