Aqua Flies Dual Dubbing Brush
Dual Dubbing Brush – Built for Modern Steelhead Flies When you’re tying flies that need to move, breathe, and come alive in the water, your dubbing loop matters. When you’re tying flies with dubbing loops or composite materials, the difference is in the brush-out. This tool opens up trapped fibers so your flies move, breathe, and fish the way they’re supposed to. The Dual Dubbing Brush was designed with that in mind—built for tiers who rely on composite loops and blended materials to create flies with depth, profile, and lifelike motion. Designed specifically for dubbing loops and composite brushes used in modern steelhead and salmon flies. This is the brush I use and is used to tie my flies at the factory. The Ultra Squid and Dirty Hoh would not look and function properly without this highly effective tool. Why This Brush Works A dubbing loop isn’t finished when it’s spun—it’s finished when it’s properly brushed out. This tool features two working surfaces: A Velcro hook side for teasing out shorter, finer materials A set of closely spaced fine metal tines that dig into dense loops and free everything trapped inside The metal side is where the magic happens. The spacing allows you to fully open up composite loops—bringing out flash, natural fibers, and synthetics so they work together instead of clumping.
