This sash is handmade on a loom using polyester. Its design is a replica of the Coventry style sash which Louis Riel wore circa 1860. Coventry sashes were historically made near Coventry and Manchester in England and exported to Canada. They were sold by the Hudson’s Bay Company. Coventry sashes were the most common sashes from 1850 to the early 1900s. 8cm wide x 180cm including fringe.
