**A family-friendly trip for locals — spots are open to full-time Pontiac residents. We have limited spaces, so please make sure you can attend if you book. If you need to cancel, please let us know right away so we take someone else on the waitlist. Join a fun day for people who live nearby. Experience the world class whitewater of the Ottawa River. We provide all equipment. Everybody gets a spot in an expertly guided raft. You'll also have the opportunity to try kayarafting (solo inflatable kayaks) and riverboarding. We'll be running 'the Middle Channel', an introductory section with fun rapids and beautiful scenery. All rapids have walking trails around them and are 'challenge by choice'. Bring your own bag lunch and snacks and we'll stop for a riverside picnic along the way. We're planning about an hour in the afternoon where you'll have the option to either go on a short guided hike on the islands, fish (you need a Québec fishing permit), or just relax by the river. Whether it's your first time rafting or you're a regular, you're welcome to join! You don't need any whitewater experience or swimming ability. =>> See more about Boreal River Expedition's regular Ottawa River rafting trips Details Date: July 1 Cost: Free Open to ages 8 to 108 Up to 5 spots per family/booking No experience needed All gear provided — PFDs and helmets included Schedule: 9:00am meeting - please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early Shuttle to put-in (provided) Safety briefing and 'intro to rafting' rafting lesson Rafting, riverboarding, and kayarafting Riverside picnic lunch & swimming More rapids and fun!
