Original Cyanotype on Paper 15 x 22"

Two monstera leaves face each other in a mirror image, their rounded forms and iconic splits creating a beautifully symmetrical composition. Sweeping horizontal brushstrokes in warm cream flow rhythmically across the entire piece, weaving between the two leaves and adding a bold sense of movement. A small dragonfly and star-shaped botanical sit quietly in the centre where the two leaves meet. The tones shift between deep midnight navy and soft teal and warm sage green throughout, giving this piece a rich tropical depth. Created using the cyanotype process, two chemicals are hand mixed and applied to watercolour paper, real botanicals are placed on top and exposed to natural sunlight, then washed by hand to reveal the image. Each piece is completely one-of-a-kind original artwork.
