Faravahr Sterling Silver Ring with Antique Near Eastern Sasanian Hemispherical Stamp & Raw Ruby

This ring is named Faravahr - after the winged Sasanian symbol associated with soul, protection, and the guiding presence that stands behind a life. At its center is an antique Near Eastern Sasanian hemispherical stamp, carved with the profile of a man in a high, patterned headdress, his features reduced to firm lines and planes. These stamp seals once pressed identities and decisions into clay, leaving behind a reversed, repeating image of whoever claimed them; they were both personal tools and quiet amulets carried on the body. Here the seal is set intact into a broad 925 sterling silver ring, plated with black ruthenium and 18K gold. The darkened silver wraps the sides in a slightly folded, almost textile-like texture, keeping the stone’s worn surface and old abrasions fully visible rather than buried under polish. At one corner of the bezel, a natural raw ruby is held in a soft 18K gold-plated setting - uncut, fractured, and vivid, like a shard of solid color pushed up against the grey-green of the stamp. The composition reads as a dialogue between two reds: the imagined seal impressions once made in wet clay, and the present, crystalline red of the ruby.
