Liquid Illusion
The scent The artist Try a sample first! We’ve been swooning over iris – its look, its scent – since B.C. times, and it’s since held its status as one of the most important ingredients in perfumery. Here, Juliette Has A Gun has captured it in every bit of its glory with the rootstock of that flower, known as orris. Very much a “vintage” note, chock-full of powdery, creamy, petaled notes that smell sweet, but woody, all in the same breath, this bold take on a classic olfactory centerpiece could fill up a room and still raise eyebrows here in the 21st Century. A rare, fully unisex floral note beloved by the Egyptians, Greeks, and European royalty, smell the addition of sweet almonds, and a warm, radiant amber, taking this noble note and elevating it even further to fit fully within modernity, you sexy time traveler, you. Notes include iris, orris butter, tuberose, almond, heliotrope, musk, tonka bean, vanilla and dry amber. Initiated into the world of fashion by his great grandmother Nina and to perfumery by his grandfather Robert, creator of the famous perfume L’air du Temps, Romano Ricci has been surrounded by fashion and creation since childhood. Ricci decided to marry his family’s heritage with his own modern vision of perfumery. After a four-year apprenticeship in perfumery, he persuaded Francis Kurkdjian, master perfumer, to work with him in creating Juliette Has A Gun. The brand envisions a Shakespeare's Juliette as a modern woman who uses perfume as a weapon of seduction.
