An original 1965 re-release Paramount Pictures Publicity Still #10372-95, unframed. Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly and George Peppard as Paul Varjak in Holly's kitchen, with Cat on the counter. Holly's nameless ginger tom is a star in his own right: he was played by Orangey, Hollywood's most famous feline actor, who won a PATSY Award, the animal world's Oscar, for the role. Holly refuses to give him a name because she says they don't belong to each other, and he's at the heart of the film's famous rain-soaked finale. Breakfast at Tiffany's turned Holly Golightly into one of the most enduring heroines in film, gave the world "Moon River" and an Oscar-winning Henry Mancini score, and made Hepburn a style icon for generations. Truman Capote had wanted Marilyn Monroe for the part. Paramount cast Hepburn instead, and it became her defining role. This still was issued for the film's 1965 return to cinemas, with the original 1961 copyright line in the lower margin. It has period markings and an Oct. 31, 1965 date stamp on the verso.
