Limited-Edition “THE Buddy” Camera Strap — rope “10” New Memorial Color: Olive This is the “Olive” color from the “10” anniversary new edition of the popular “rope” strap by THE Buddy, directed by Yōhei Sawamura. A green‑based earth tone that is also a key trend color for the Fall/Winter 2026 season, making it easy to pair with a wide range of fashion styles. Available in limited quantities and exclusively at the GENIC SHOP. Please note that the Olive color uses a different type of leather than the standard rope strap, and therefore the price differs. This special set, which includes the photo book 10, offers a savings of 1,700 yen compared to purchasing each item individually. Photo book 10 has gone into reprint! I’m so happy. Having my very first photo book reach this point feels truly incredible. It’s all thanks to everyone who has supported me— I really, genuinely appreciate it. It may sound like a cliché, but when something like this actually happens, you really do feel that way from the bottom of your heart. To celebrate the reprint, my brand THE Buddy is releasing the second GENIC‑exclusive color of our most popular item, the “THE Buddy original rope strap”: the new Olive color! Fujii-san, the editor-in-chief of GENIC, and I discussed it together because we wanted to choose a color that sits right at the sweet spot of GENIC‑ness, THE Buddy‑ness, and “my” essence. We also talked about this on YouTube, so please check it out if you’re interested. In the language of flowers, olive symbolizes peace and tranquility. I hope this strap brings a sense of calm and comfort to your photography life. That’s the feeling I put into it. It’s a beautiful color—please enjoy it while this special opportunity lasts. ─── Yōhei Sawamura • Leather Specifications Japanese cowhide / chrome-tanned / pigment finish / water‑repellent treatment • Hardware Specifications Round double‑ring (nickel), approx. 14 mm in diameter • Size Length: approx. 1010 mm (overall length) Thickness: approx. 9 mm *Please note that slight variations may occur due to the natural characteristics of the material. • Color Olive • Compatible Cameras Cameras with round strap eyelets *Notes on the Camera Strap - Avoid storing in hot or humid environments. - Water‑repellent, but wipe off moisture promptly and dry in a well‑ventilated place. - Color transfer to clothing may occur due to sweat or friction. - Natural leather may show small marks or wrinkles. - Although durable, the strap may break depending on usage. - Depending on the camera shape or excessive load, metal parts may touch and scratch the camera or become deformed. Photo Book “10” “10” is a 240‑page photo book created to commemorate Yōhei Sawamura’s 10th anniversary since he began photographing, tracing his journey over the years. He considers 2015—the year he first picked up a camera—as his “Point Zero,” and the book compiles photographs taken from that year through 2025, arranged chapter by chapter, one year at a time. The book also includes generous text in which Sawamura writes openly about his experiences and inner thoughts, such as: - The day he bought his first camera at age 30 - The dream of becoming a professional—one he repeatedly told himself was “not easy” and kept shutting away - The fear and resolve he felt at 34 when he decided to make photography his life - The realization that he had stopped bringing out his own strengths - The story behind creating Kyoto Boys, born from a desire to protect many things he cared about - His wish to give back to Kyoto, photography, and coffee shops - And the “true likes” he finally reclaimed for himself Sawamura also expresses, with honesty and vulnerability, the parts of himself he says he is revealing “for the first time” in this book. The book underneath the printed dust jacket is also crafted with great care. Its cover is a deep sumi‑black with red foil stamping, creating a simple yet richly textured finish.
