PENNSYLVANIA HOUSE Solid Cherry Traditional Style 36" Media Armoire / Wall Unit. Cherry Wood in the "Traditional" design with Dovetail construction. Pennsylvania House Furniture was one of the earliest furniture brands in America. It started in 1887 in a small workshop in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. With the dense old forests of the area supplying them with strong, beautiful cherry wood, Pennsylvania House produced a great deal of handcrafted case goods including dressers, dining room tables, and bookcases. While cherry was their most popular material, furniture made in maple, pine, and walnut enjoyed success as well. This is part of a 5-unit, 12-foot entertainment center that I have owned since the 1980's. It is mint condition. The back panel inside was removed to accommodate a television. The black shelf can be pulled out. I use it to hold my turntable but there is an additional pullout shelf in the bottom of the unit. It has 2 pullout drawers for holding CD's or cassettes.
