They can, in the sense that anything designed to be removed is removable — so it's worth a glance to check all three are seated on the ring before handing it over, and worth knowing there are three separate pieces rather than one object. Hand wash only — not the machine, and not soaked. This is where the opening earns its keep: slip off the one toy that needs it, wash that, and leave the rest alone. Let it dry fully before it goes back on. Can I attach it to a pram? Yes, two ways. A separate cotton velcro strap is included, which fastens to a pram bar, a cot rail, a car seat handle or a playgym frame — and because the silicone ring also opens, it can simply be slipped over a bar without the strap at all. For the early weeks it's a toy to be strapped where your baby can see it, with the mirror and the rattle doing the work while they look and listen. Grabbing turns up somewhere around three or four months, and pulling on the sprung tethers after that. It unlocks in stages rather than all at once. Is the squeak loud? Louder than the rattle, and it's the element that gets the biggest reaction — but it's a soft fabric squeaker rather than anything electronic, so it only makes a noise when squeezed.
