Clay Belles Workshop Date: Saturday October 10, 10:00am - 12:00pm and Saturday, October 17, 10am -12:00pm Cost: $165 Location: 244 Commercial Street Nevada City Workshop Description: Join Diana Fayt for an inspiring and fun two-day workshop where you’ll create one-of-a-kind hand-pinched ceramic bells! You learn techniques to shape and decorate your bells and make a beautiful, functional piece of art. Day 1: On day one Diana will cover clay preparation and hand-pinching techniques to create the bell bodies as well as how to craft beads and clangers to compliment your belle shapes. We will break for lunch to let our belles set up and return to the studio to finish the belles with simple surface decoration using carving and texture techniques. Day 2: On day two Diana will demonstrate how to string your bells for both visual harmony and optimal sound, focusing balance and functionality. You will leave with your own beautiful handcrafted belle to ring in the new year! If you are unable to make the second class, we can send you your pieces and string along with instructions for assembling the bells.
