Fair Isle Vest Machair

The Fair Isle vest in Machair has been designed in-house and knitted in Dundee exclusively for Scottish Textiles Showcase. Ellen and Flora have designed their own take on a Fair Isle vest using a combination of classic motifs inspired by a trip to Shetland, where they met traditional Shetland Fair Isle knitters. We've called this colour-way Machair after the rare coastal grassland habitat unique to the north-west coasts of Scotland and Ireland, which is carpeted with vibrant wildflowers in the summer. Look out for the second colour-way Peat, due in store in the coming weeks! Knitted with British wool from Bluefaced Leicester & Masham sheep, processed from fleece to finished yarn in less than 50 miles. Dry clean or cool hand wash only.
