Véronik Robe – Three-Part Advanced Beginner Series Who says cozy can't also be luxurious? In this three-part advanced beginner class, we'll be making the beautiful Véronik Robe by Core Patterns--a relaxed, stylish robe that's perfect for lounging at home, getting cozy on chilly mornings, or even wearing as a layering piece over your everyday clothes. The Véronik Robe comes in two lengths (mid-calf or just above the knee), with options for a traditional collar band or a notched collar, elbow-length sleeves with facings, or wrist-length sleeves with a folded hem. All versions feature roomy slanted pockets and a sash that can be tied traditionally or looped through side seam openings for a different silhouette. This is a great class if you've sewn a few simple garments and are ready to build your skills with collars, facings, pockets, and garment construction. Depending on your fabric choice, you can make a cozy everyday robe, something a little more luxurious, or a beautiful handmade gift! Skills You'll Learn How to take measurements and choose your size How to sew a collar band or notched collar How to sew and attach facings How to sew slanted pockets How to construct sleeves and finish hems How to make and attach a sash or tie belt Tips for working with different woven fabrics and creating clean garment finishes Who It’s For Advanced beginner sewists who already know how to use a sewing machine and have made a few simple projects or garments. You should feel comfortable threading and using a sewing machine independently, sewing basic seams, following pattern instructions, and pressing as you sew. You will not be taught how to sew from scratch in this class, so please be sure you have basic sewing experience before registering. Materials Provided: Sewing pattern, sewing machines, sergers, coordinating thread, fabric shears, pins/clips, marking tools, measuring tape, irons, and instructor guidance throughout the series. Needed: Your own fabric. Please refer to the fabric yardage chart here under "supplies" to determine how much fabric you'll need for your size and chosen view. Be sure to check the fabric width when calculating yardage. Bring your pre-washed fabric to the first class. Suggested fabrics: This pattern works with a variety of woven fabrics! For a more structured robe, choose linen, flannel, cotton poplin, or other light- to heavyweight woven fabrics. For a softer, drapier look, try viscose, rayon challis, Tencel, cotton voile, or silk.
