A flexible, super-light skin for the vintage Leica M2, M3 and M4. Adds grip and protection while keeping the camera's classic profile. A simpler, modern alternative to a leather half-case, without the bulk, the weight, or the sag leather develops over time. Why it works Pop-off film loading (Standard version): the entire case instantly releases. You can then remove the camera baseplate as normal to load film. Sits flat (Standard version): no protruding screws underneath, camera sits stable on any surface. Shape-holding fit: moulded to the body's curves. Stays put, doesn't shift, doesn't sag. Vulcanite protection: wraps the body to shield the original vulcanite from wear, oils, and edge damage. Especially valuable on these older bodies, where worn vulcanite affects both look and resale. Hides cracked or peeling vulcanite: a clean, modern way to give an older body a tidy second life without an expensive recover. Leica-style leatherette texture: better grip and the case looks like it belongs there. Compatibility Leica M2 Leica M3, all versions: double-stroke and single-stroke, including early bodies with "Buddha ear" strap lugs Leica M4 Early M3 bodies with a 3/8" tripod socket: most M2, M3 and M4 bodies have the usual 1/4" socket, but some early M3s have a larger 3/8" one. No Grip: keeps the camera's classic film-era silhouette intact. No bumps, just a simple layer of protection. Standard or Tripod mount Standard: custom quick-release bung. Snap it on, snap it off. Sits flat. Best if you rarely tripod. Tripod: traditional 1/4"-20 screw mount. Compatible with most tripod plates, quick-release systems, and clip mounts, including Peak Design Capture and Arca-Swiss style plates. Includes two screws. The 8mm screw comes pre-fitted and has a built-in thumb grip, so you can tighten it by hand with no tools. The spare 10mm screw lets you sandwich-mount a tripod plate between the case and camera, and needs a flat-head screwdriver to tighten. Front self-timer lever Look at the front of your camera, under the film rewind lever. If there is a larger lever there, you have a self-timer. Most M2, M3 and M4 bodies do, but not all of them. Yes: the standard case, with a clearance cutout so the self-timer lever sits free and stays fully usable on the no-grip version. No: a clean, unbroken front with no cutout, specifically for bodies built without a self-timer. Tidier than fitting a cased body with an empty hole in it. Not sure which you have? Safety Always use a strap or tether. The case is not a primary security solution. Tripod version: ensure at least 4mm of screw thread is engaged in the camera tripod socket. Tighten fully and re-check periodically. 3/8" socket bodies: screw the reducer bush fully into the camera's tripod socket before fitting the case, and re-check it periodically.
