Kuirika Earrings
In Maharashtra, the kuiri has always been a sign of good fortune. It is drawn at doorways and woven into silk borders. It is carved on temple walls and passed down through generations. A single curve, shaped like a mango, carrying blessings in its form. We took that curve and set it in gold. A rose-pink stone rests at its heart, warm as a new beginning. Small white sparkles trail along the edge, like light on a festive morning. The curve is soft and flowing. The earring is small enough for everyday, and it carries a long tradition with it. Something that has always meant good fortune, now worn close to the face.
