19th Century Bronze Bear Figural Candlestick Holder French Antique Black Forest

An exceptional bronze candlestick holder comprising of a bear straddling the stem/trunk beneath a wax pan of acorns and oak leaves. An unusual model and I have been unable to find another example of it. Appears to be unmarked, I think possibly of French origin. Was at one time silver-plated with traces of it observable. In great overall condition with a nice warm patina. Height: 20.5 cm - Base diameter: 10.5 cm Please enlarge all images and inspect thoroughly, if you have any questions or require more photographs please do not hesitate to ask.
