Kaltern Saleit Chardonnay
This Chardonnay has an apple, citrus, vanilla, and butter aroma. It pairs well with grilled fish and seafood. The grapes come from south- and east-facing vineyards at 350–500 meters, from 10-20-year-old vines using a trellis system. The soil is calcareous with clay and sand. The wine is aged slowly in large barrels (80%) and barriques (20%) for six months before bottle aging. Serving temperature is 10–12 °C, with a drinking window of 1–6 years.
