Coffee Table with Etched Metal Top by Heinz Lilienthal, 1970s
Coffee Table with Etched Metal Top by Heinz Lilienthal, 1970s with an organic leaf relief pattern. This handmade German design coffee table combines artistic metalwork with a strong brutalist character. This unique coffee table was designed and produced around 1970 by Heinz Lilienthal (1927–2006). The square top is executed in hand-worked and etched metal with a leaf relief pattern and appears to float visually above the wooden base. The table is marked by Heinz Lilienthal and documented in the book Heinz Lilienthal, Werdegang und Werk by Werner Kloos. Executed in etched metal and wood. Dimensions: 110 × 110 × 40 cm (W×D×H). The condition of the coffee table is very good with normal signs of use consistent with age, including light scratches to the metal top. The etched surface and natural patina enhance the artistic and handcrafted character of the design.
