Macallan 1982 25 Years Old Anniversary Malt

43% 750 ml This Macallan 25-year-old Anniversary malt dates back to 1962 and so is now incredibly scarce, sought after as it is by both Macallan top of the range drinking aficionados and serious collectors and investors. It was bottled in 1988 after 25 years in lovingly cared Sherry casks and the fill is to the bottom of the neck; the bottle comes in its original straw filled wooden box. Unusually, it bears the name of the Australian importer - I H Baker (Wines & Spirits) Pty Ltd, which was a prominent wholesaler under the direction of Ian “Arch” Baker and held a recognised position in the trade in the 1980’s. A truly genuine find. The Anniversary Malt series was introduced in 1983 as a marketing strategy to provide the perfect gift for a 25th anniversary or a much-loved person‘s retirement. The series was introduced when the distillery was still using “Golden Promise“ barley and a smaller number of stills and it is believed that all of this contributed to a superior flavour profile.
