the double layered silver buckle belt has been hand cut from a washed and tumbled 3.2mm vegetable tanned reverse horse culatta leather with a rotten corpse matte black dyed finish implemented over 72 hours. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish. the leather belt features a hand forged solid .925 sterling silver buckle with a 10hr slow oxidised finish. the buckle is formed from a single piece of 3.5mm silver bar bent and shaped by hand to form the elongated silhouette. a hand forged .925 sterling silver strap holder mirrors the aesthetic of the buckle. each of the stitch holes have been individually spaced and punched by hand before being hand sewn without the use of machines in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed japanese linen thread to connect the layers and deconstructed panel's each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch. custom leathers are available upon request.
