Vintage Boys 1940s Jumbo Corduroy Plus Fours Cords +4s Trousers Knickers Breeks Beige 27"

A pair of vintage German 1940s plus fours, made from cotton jumbo or wide wale corduroy fabric in a sandy beige shade. They have single inward pleats, extended front waist tab & side waist button adjusters, full-cut voluminous legs with reinforced double seat, button fly, braces buttons with rear 'rabbit ear' tabs, 2 angled front pockets & one rear pocket with buttoned flaps, front cash pocket with flap, & buttoned buckle tabs to fasten the hems. Intended for a boy or youth, but could also fit a woman. Please study the photographs carefully - they form an important part of the description. Size: Suggested 27" waist All measurements are external, taken with the garment laid flat, to be doubled where appropriate for circumference (with approx. metric equivalent): Waist: 13 1/2" (34cm) [about 2" available to let out] Hip: approx. 20" (51cm) taken 7" below the waist Inside leg: 24 3/4" (63cm) Outside leg: 35 1/2" (90cm) Rise - crotch seam to top of waist: 12" (30.5cm) Leg opening at hem: 6 1/2" (16.5cm) maximum. Condition: In good condition overall, do not appear much worn but with sun fading from years of folded storage, most noticeably across the back right knee & along the inside leg seams - some other surface scuffs & marbling as is typical with vintage corduroy - a few small faint brown marks - one cuff buckle is tarnished - some brown marks to the waistband lining & pocket bags. Have been thoroughly steamed & brushed prior to listing.
