This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed on sides and back to protect the stone for long term use. It measures 125 mm (4.92 inches) long × 70 mm (2.76 inches) wide × 30 mm (1.18 inches) tall, and weighs 588 g (20.74 oz / 1.30 lbs). Hardness: 3.2 Beautiful Narutaki Akapin with rich red base coloration. This soft and creamy Akapin is extremely easy to use for all levels of skill. Extremely versatile in application and use and good for all blades including knives, razors, tools and swords. This thick koppa is best served as a pre finishing stone. its softer base hardness allows for maximum cutting strength by releasing grit rich mud which cuts the steel effectively and creates a uniform, hazy finish.
