Mixed Ability Sewing Course: Fridays 2pm-4pm Starting 5th June
A six-week course of sewing lessons at Catkin & Scraps, Ulverston, beginning on the 5th of June. Please note: This course will be taught while the shop is open and some interruptions will occur while your teacher serves the occasional customer. I have limited it to three places so that you will still receive a good amount of tuition. The course is a mixed ability one, suitable for complete beginners up to intermediate sewists. Each week you will have a two-hour lesson in our Making Space, with full use of our Janome computerised sewing machines and overlockers. Tea and coffee is available and there is a changing room to try on your makes. I'll help you make a sewing pattern of your choice, though it's a good idea to come and see me at the shop beforehand so we can choose something suitable if you can. The cost of the pattern is not included in the course but they will be available here for you to buy. You will also need to buy your own fabric & thread. Students receive a 10% discount on fabrics in the shop while they are booked onto a course, but you do not have to buy with us if you prefer to shop elsewhere or already have fabric. Basic sewing supplies are available to use, but we do advise to bring your own kit if you have one so you don't have to wait to use the communal ones. The workshop is fairly accessible, but if you have any special requirements as far as access or seating goes please do get in touch and we'll see what we can do. You can book your place here or in person at the shop. If you change your mind or circumstances mean that you can no longer take part, please let us know as soon as possible. You can cancel your booking up to one week before the class is due to start, after that we will only refund you if we are able to fill your place.
