Black Weeping Sakura Mug

This elegant Kyo-yaki mug is thrown from red clay into a softly rounded shape with subtle faceting along the bottom. Atop the red clay, it has a matte black glaze, decorated with hand-painted shidarezakura (枝垂れ桜 - weeping cherry blossoms) on the front and along the inside of the lip. The handle is carefully made to resemble a twisting vine.
