BK Wines Skin n' Bones Pinot Noir 2025 The angular, energetic, slightly-funky face of Adelaide Hills Pinot — complex, Burgundy-inspired, and built to turn heads. Grape Varietals & Region: 100% Pinot Noir, primarily the MV6 clone with additions of 777, 114, and 115 clones, from the Yandra/Gower Vineyard in Lenswood, Adelaide Hills, South Australia. The site was planted in 1998 by Anne and Jeff Gower, who farm it organically. It is a steep, east-facing slope on sandstone with a deep clay pan to hold moisture — providing the structured, savoury backbone that defines this wine vintage after vintage Taste Profile: The name "Skin n Bones" refers to the slightly funky, more angular and energetic version of Pinot Noir that BK delivers under this label — a beautiful balance of fruit and boney structure, with spice in perfume and some X-factor. The 2024 vintage showed exceptional colour and palate weight balanced with herbaceous notes of thyme and mint — currently giving shades of a dark-eyed, brooding teen, as the wine matures further it promises to develop an even more complex personality. Across vintages, the nose layers pomegranate, thyme, punchy red cherry, interesting vegetal and herbal-salt characters, lively beetroot, and roast parsnip, with the palate unveiling field mushrooms and spices. Rated 95pts by The Vintage Journal for the 2024 vintage Winemaking Process: Grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch fermented in concrete 5-tonne open-top tanks. Each clone is vinified separately in a combination of puncheons and barriques, with only 10% new oak, before being blended for bottling. Keeping the new oak component to just 10% allows the fruit and terroir to shine unimpeded. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulphur additions
