Verdant Drift Field_J2K4L6-WS_13D
Short Description A hand-dipped ceramic surface composed of softly shifting green tonal variations. Built from individually glazed modules, the field combines subtle chromatic movement, atmospheric depth and controlled material variation to create a calm architectural surface suitable for walls, floors, wet areas and ponds. ⸻ Product Description Verdant Drift Field (J2K4L6-WS) is a handcrafted ceramic surface produced by the VLVLK Team. Composed of individually glazed ceramic modules, the surface develops through gentle transitions between pale mineral greens, softened celadon tones and deeper moss-like accents. Rather than relying on repetition, the installation operates as an aggregate field where variation and continuity coexist. The resulting surface reads as calm, atmospheric and materially rich. Tonal shifts emerge naturally through the glazing process, creating subtle movement across the installation while maintaining overall visual cohesion. At close range, individual pieces reveal nuanced variation; at architectural scale they merge into a unified field of colour and texture. Suitable for residential, hospitality and commercial applications where a refined ceramic field is desired. ⸻ Surface Classification Host Wall Floor Wet Area Pond System Regular Module System Primary Field Read Aggregate Field Read Secondary Field Read Material-Led / Reactive Field Read Primary Chroma Green Surface Character Atmospheric Mineral Calm Layered Material Behaviour Tonal drift Glaze density variation Controlled chromatic variation Subtle surface movement Authored field variability ⸻ Specification Code: J2K4L6-WS Artist: VLVLK Team Designer: VLVLK Team Unit: 1 m² Sold: Per square metre Approximate Tile Size: L(98–102) × W(98–102) × H(10–13) mm Coverage: 100 pieces per m² Weight: Approx. 20.28 kg per m² Colour Detail: Green Blend Decorative Process: Hand Dipped Applications Interior walls Floors Wet areas Ponds Decorative architectural surfaces Can be Used in Multi-Part Assembly: TBC Can be Bulked With: TBC ⸻ Installation This surface has been curated to honour the individuality of each piece. Please refer to the installation images provided to guide orientation, tonal distribution and overall composition. These reference layouts communicate the intended balance of variation and continuity developed by the studio. ⸻ Product Note You will receive the same or a closely related blend to the images shown. As part of the Wabi-Sabi Edition, each production batch retains controlled variation and may be further customised through bespoke colour, blend and field curation upon request. ⸻ Availability OTR (Off-the-Rack) Stock Availability depends on the component with the lowest available stock quantity. Custom and bespoke enquiries based on this field are welcomed. ⸻ Visualisation Note Project visualisations may include digitally generated environments used to explore spatial possibilities. While the surrounding setting may be conceptual, the ceramic surface itself is an authentic VLVLK material system designed and produced within our studio. These visualisations are intended to assist with understanding potential interactions between material, light and architecture. They should be interpreted as exploratory studies rather than fixed installation specifications. Final outcomes are influenced by project-specific curation, layout decisions, lighting conditions and installation context. ⸻ Wabi-Sabi Edition This surface belongs to the VLVLK Wabi-Sabi Edition. The edition embraces controlled variation as an essential component of ceramic authorship. Rather than pursuing industrial uniformity, it celebrates the nuanced differences that emerge through material behaviour, glazing and firing. Pieces may exhibit: • Tonal variation • Surface movement and glaze drift • Crazing patterns • Subtle dimensional variation • Minor bowing or deformation • Irregular shade transitions • Authored variation across the field These characteristics contribute to the visual depth, individuality and architectural presence of the installed surface. ⸻ Light & Shadow The interaction between glaze, surface texture and changing light conditions forms an important part of the field experience. Natural and artificial light reveal different aspects of the surface throughout the day, enhancing tonal depth, material richness and spatial atmosphere. As illumination changes, the field continues to evolve, rewarding both close inspection and architectural-scale viewing. ⸻ Controlled Variability Each piece is individually influenced by material, glaze and firing behaviour. Variations in tone, surface density, glaze movement and visual character are expected and form part of the intended field condition. These variations should be interpreted as authored characteristics of the work rather than manufacturing defects.
