Basics of Clothing Mending - Hand Stitching & Patching | October 4, 2026

This is a 1 session in-person workshop. DATES/TIMES Sunday, October 4, 2026; 1:00-4:00pm LEVEL Beginner! MATERIALS (included) All materials included: needles, various types of thread, various patching fabrics, stabilizers / will also bring scissors, darning tools, threaders, an iron, marking tools for use in class. Students are welcome to bring clothing to mend as well as scraps of fabric for patching. DETAILS One of the simplest but most powerful ways to push back against fashion waste, and save money while you do it, is extending the life of the clothes you already own and love. You can use visible mending techniques to add character and colorfully express yourself, or use mending methods to subtly repair buttons, hems, rips, and tears. Join this hands-on mending workshop and learn basic sewing skills such as darning, patching, and applique. All supplies are included, just bring something you’d like to mend!
