Late-Summer 2026 Handbuilding: Mixed Levels with Anne
An introduction to the fundamentals of forming clay by hand, focused on building both skill and creative confidence. In this class, you’ll explore core handbuilding techniques, including slab, coil, and pinch, learning how to transform clay into both simple and more complex forms. Alongside construction, you’ll be introduced to surface decoration methods such as carving, stamping, sgraffito, and sprigging to bring character and detail to your work. Projects are tailored to your experience level. Beginners will follow guided class projects, while more experienced students are encouraged to develop their own ideas with instructor support. What You’ll Make Projects may include: Mugs Plates Pitchers Planters Vases Boxes and small sculptural objects (Projects vary depending on the class and individual direction.)
