300x190x90 "Goodwood" Timber Corbels

Where would you normally use the "Goodwood" wooden corbels (or timber carvings)? As a feature on a kitchen, piece of furniture or fireplace surround. What is it made out of? Plantation grown Radiata Pine that is finger jointed. How can it be finished? As the finger joints are visible, it would be better to paint the product rather than polish/lacquer/varnish it. Can it be used in an exterior (outside) application? It could be, but only if it was treated and then painted.
