Pierre Jeanneret Stool, Chandigarh, c. 1960 (CCI-209)
Designed by Pierre Jeanneret for the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, this stool retains its original institutional stencil, CCI/209, placing it within the Chandigarh Capitol Complex inventory. This stool is one of six from the same institutional source, each bearing a unique CCI inventory stencil. Offered individually. Constructed entirely in solid teak, the stool is built from two flat slab legs joined by a teak stretcher. The seat is gently concave, with a shallow saddle curve that runs front to back. The form is resolved and direct, with no applied ornament. The teak has developed a dense, warm patina consistent with more than sixty years of use. Offered as found. Lightly cleaned and unrestored.
