A Rustically Woven Obi: Wide Stripes

mid twentieth century 120" x 6 3/4", 309 cm x 17 cm This is a nicely designed and woven rustic obi, or a traditional kimono sash that is woven using thick weft yarns that give the appearance that the obi is sakiori or weaving using a rag yarn weft. The warp yarns on this obi are white and the weft yarns are arranged in blocks of even widths of terra cotta, darker brown and a cream color--the simplicity of this design is more than attractive. This hand woven obi is in very good condition, with no visible holes or stains, and it is a handsome example of a rustic obi.
