Nanobody affinity resin is an affinity chromatography medium that uses a nanobody—a single-domain antibody fragment (VHH) derived from the heavy-chain-only antibodies of camelids such as llamas and alpacas—as the immobilized capture ligand. The nanobody is covalently coupled to a cross-linked agarose support and binds its target antigen with high affinity and specificity. BiCell Scientific’s human albumin affinity resin utilizes a nanobody conjugated agarose matrix with a mean size of 90 μm and capable of operating under 0.1 MPa (1 bar/14.5 psi). The nanobody was raised against human albumin (Cat No: NB0013). The hydrophilic nature of the matrix ensures low levels of non-specific binding leading to low levels of host cell-derived impurities in the elution pool. This resin binds >10 mg albumin/mL resin and is suitable for use in batch mode, with gravity flow, or using a chromatography system.
