The Garment Sewing Essentials Virtual Workshop
This is a virtual class hosted via Zoom. Class Description: You've learned how to thread your machine and perhaps sewn a few accessories or beginner garments. You have so many questions about the "how's" and "why's "of the basic techniques and principles that go into garment construction. This workshop guides you through the foundational, essential elements that go into quality garment construction. These concepts and methods are used in every garment, from beginner to advanced projects, and are the "unsung heroes" of garment construction. They directly contribute to the final shape, structure, and quality of your project. Once you have a strong understanding of these principles, you can confidently apply them to every project, and they will enhance even a beginner's project to a more professional standard. This virtual class is a hands-on lecture session, with in-depth demonstrations, where you will be guided through the creation of your own technique samples. You will be creating a reference book of the methods and principles discussed in class, which you can use as a resource for all future projects. Included in the Class: You will receive a PDF workbook that will need to be printed before the class. You will also recieve pattern pieces that will need to be prepared and cut out in muslin, in preparation for sewing the demonstrations in class. Prerequisite Skills: This beginner-level class is perfect for someone who wants to improve their garment-making skills or is about to start their adventure in sewing clothing.
