Vintage Sterling Silver Smoky Topaz Cocktail Ring Sz 7.75

This ring was purchased in the early 1990s, from a jewelry store that was going out of business in White Plains, New York. Possibly from an earlier era, the elegant cocktail ring is comprised of sterling silver, and is bezel set with an elongated cab of genuine smoky topaz a.k.a smoky quartz or cairngorm, measuring approximately 18 x 10 in size. It also has braided wire trim and decorative openwork under-carriage or bridge as shown. The ring measures a size of 7&3/4 on my ring mandrel, weighs 5.9 grams, and is marked “925” inside the shank.
